Symantec
Symantec Enterprise Cloud delivers data-centric hybrid security for the largest, most complex organizations in the world – on devices, in private data centers, and in the cloud.

Imagine, if you will, a universe teeming with malicious digital entities—viruses, worms, trojans—all floating about the ether like particularly irritable dust particles. And in this universe, there exist two great defenders of your data: ESET NOD32 and Symantec, which is nowadays known as Symantec Endpoint Protection, presumably because someone at Symantec thought that adding “Endpoint” would make them sound a bit more heroic.

ESET NOD32 is a nimble, rather sprightly sort of antivirus, a bit like a particularly vigilant terrier that takes up remarkably little space in your system while pouncing on threats with enthusiasm. It's got this clever thing called advanced heuristics, which basically means it’s very good at predicting what sort of nasty code might be lurking about—even if it hasn't seen that particular shade of nastiness before. It's fast, efficient and doesn’t demand too much attention, allowing you to focus on more pressing concerns, like making sure your toaster hasn’t developed AI and started plotting against you.

Symantec, however, is a different breed entirely—a sort of armored battleship of cybersecurity. It comes bristling with firewalls, intrusion prevention systems and a truly formidable array of threat detection tools. If ESET NOD32 is a vigilant terrier, then Symantec is a fleet of battle-hardened warships, complete with admirals, deckhands and quite possibly a strategically-placed biscuit tin for morale. It’s designed for large organizations with complicated security needs, where one must not only defend against incoming attacks but also ensure that one’s digital ducks are all neatly in a row, ready for inspection by a rather severe-looking security auditor.
