Facebook Messenger and Snapchat are both popular platforms for text messaging, multimedia sharing and voice/video calling (on iOS and Android). They offer a wide library of stickers, emojis and GIFs, include filters and effects for photos and videos and have a "Stories" feature that allows users to post photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.
