Mobile news reader for Feedbin, Feedly, Feed Wrangler, FeedHQ, NewsBlur, The Old Reader, Inoreader, Minimal Reader, BazQux Reader, Fever and Readability. Don't want to use a third-party service? Reeder also supports local/standalone RSS (no sync).
Feedly and Reeder are both RSS feed readers, which sounds quite unremarkable until you realize that this is where the plot thickens. You see, Feedly, in its own rather ambitious way, is a web-based platform—though it doesn’t like to brag about that in polite company—and it does its best to be absolutely everywhere. Whether you’re clutching a smartphone, tapping away on a tablet, or even wielding something as archaic as a laptop, Feedly is ready and waiting to serve you a veritable buffet of neatly organized articles. It’s sort of like the waiter at a very, very large restaurant, who not only remembers your order but also has memorized all the restaurants you’ve ever dined at. It prides itself on being simple and accessible, as if it’s saying, "Don't worry, I’ve got this." It works for those who enjoy dipping in and out of various news sources without making too much of a fuss about it.
Now, Reeder, on the other hand, is like that cool friend who turns up to the party in a sleek black turtleneck and says very little, but when they do, everyone listens. Reeder lives exclusively in the Apple universe, casually lounging on macOS and iOS, where it offers a minimalistic, almost Zen-like experience. There are no unnecessary frills—just you, your articles and the quiet satisfaction of a streamlined interface. Oh and offline reading. Yes, because Reeder knows that sometimes the internet likes to be dramatic and vanish and it doesn’t want you to miss out on anything during such unfortunate intervals. It also enjoys playing well with third-party apps like Instapaper and Pocket, which, in RSS-reader terms, is rather like being friends with the cool kids at school.
