LibreWolf and Pale Moon are both alternative open-source web browsers (forked from Firefox) which are focused on privacy and security. They remove certain telemetry features found in mainstream browsers and don't use Google search by default. Both offer interface customization options and support extensions like Firefox.
But LibreWolf (available since 2019) retains compatibility with most Firefox extensions and supports modern web standards. It automatically enforces strict privacy settings such as uBlock Origin pre-installed. But it doesn't have built-in support for DRM-protected content (e.g., Netflix).
Pale Moon (2009) is Belgian browser, forked from older Firefox version which provides legacy add-on support. It uses its own browser engine, Goanna, instead of Gecko (Firefox's engine) and focuses on performance and efficiency. Pale Moon lacks some modern web features (e.g., WebRTC support), which makes it more lightweight.
