WorkTorch, a company that until recently called itself QuickHire, has triumphantly announced a seed round of $2.2 million. Since its grand debut last April, the platform has managed to collect over 40,000 hopeful service industry souls, all keenly in search of gainful employment, and schedules at least 1,000 interviews a month — a number that sounds impressively large until you realize it only scratches the surface of humanity's eternal struggle to earn a living. As if that weren’t enough excitement, WorkTorch is also rebranding itself with what can only be described as feverish enthusiasm, offering a new career development portal so users can ponder the mysteries of their professional journeys and bond with like-minded wanderers. Ashby is replacing solutions from providers like Greenhouse and Lever with algorithms — specifically scheduling and profiling algorithms. The platform claims to use AI to automatically identify suitable times for both interviewers and candidates and to deduce demographic data such as gender and ethnicity, which clients use for aggregate analysis of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) hiring metrics. Ashby is streamlining recruitment tools for companies with double-digit employee numbers. Its automation of tasks like sourcing and scheduling provides significant advantages for small recruiting teams.


2022. Fetcher raises $27M to automate aspects of job candidate sourcing



Fetcher, the talent acquisition platform formerly known as Scout, has recently secured $27 million in a Series B funding round. Using a Chrome extension, Fetcher’s platform integrates with ATS solutions as well as Gmail and Outlook, enabling recruiters to source candidates directly from LinkedIn. Fetcher categorizes job seekers into predefined email workflows, providing analytics that include progress towards diversity objectives at the individual, team, position and company levels. Fetcher also utilizes predictive modeling to automatically assess the interest of job candidates based on their responses and features “automated sourcing,” which operates in the background to move applicants through screening processes using automated emails.

2021. Recruiting platform Gem raises $100M



Gem, the company that empowers organizations to undertake proactive recruitment—by sending numerous emails, organizing events, running branded email campaigns and investing in ads to connect with talent—has secured $100 million in Series C funding. Gem is experiencing adoption from major enterprises and plans to expand internationally in the coming year, targeting Western Europe and parts of Asia Pacific. The company aims to utilize the new investment for market expansion as well as for boosting its sales and marketing efforts. Out of its more than 800 clients, Gem highlights over 100 unicorns, including Gusto, Sift and Cockroach Labs. It has tripled its revenue over the past year and doubled its customer base.
